I think my wife needs an iPod Shuffle

My wife is quite a music fan and likes the iTunes interface and ability to purchase single songs that she likes rather than full albums. The problem is that her Acura TL Type-S system likes to keep and swallow CD-Rs that I burn of her music. She has had to go into Acura several times and have them remove the disks and no longer uses them in her car. I tried my old iPod and a FM transmitter before, but the FM transmitter (Belkin Tunecast II) was a bit unreliable and the sound wasn’t that great. She has been asking me to get the iTunes music in her car again so last night I used my daughter’s iPod mini and the cassette adapter from my Delphi MyFi system to hook into my wife’s car. This setup absolutely ROCKED and the sound was outstanding.

I now need to go get another cassette adapter and am thinking of picking up an iPod Shuffle for my wife. I am looking for something inexpensive for our upcoming wedding anniversary (almost 12 years) and the shuffle should be a good solution for her since she likes the random playback ability and it is nice and small to fit in her car without causing a big mess.

Another option if you’re okay spending around $150 is a refurbished 4 GB iPod Mini from the Apple Store. Go to the Apple Store main page, and then click on the red “Clearance” banner which will take you to the refurbished products page. They have a number of different colors of the iPod Mini. I’m thinking of getting one for myself.

    Uh Matt…
Doesn’t she ever look here? You’re gonna blow the surprise.

    Just no candles.

No, she rarely visits this blog.

Actually, I have a Dell Pocket DJ I don’t use that often that I gave her to try yesterday. It is working well, but she likes to buy music via iTunes so I have to burn them to a CD and then rip them back to MP3s to put in the Dell. I wish there was a better way to get iTunes into MP3 format or even better would be for iTunes to come in MP3 format when you purchase them.
