Happy 229th America!

We had a wonderful 4th of July out on Lake Tanwax at the Camp Lakeview campground. Our church held their 4th annual campout and I was again in charge of the games. We had both the kids and adults participate in the three legged race, gunny sack race, water balloon toss, crazy olympics and cherry seed spitting contest. We also played a fun game of softball, went swimming at the lake, and had some nice campfire smores (with peanut butter added as well). The weekend was topped off by an awesome fireworks show and time to light off our own fireworks. I was not connected to the internet all weekend and just enjoyed time with my family and friends.

Happy 229th Birthday America! It is great to live in such a free country founded by some great Americans where we can worship freely and live a blessed life.

Isn’t it great to be an American!

Sounds like you had a great 4th! Ours was just a quiet day at home, while it rained, and the wind blew. Even a tree fell in our front yard, and we never knew it, until we went out to dinner in the afternoon. I guess you can say, as you get older, it’s nice not to have to cook and clean up afterwards. Eating out made the day!

And, it is nice to be able to worship freely, but how long is it going to last? Our freedoms are slowly but surely being taken away from us, and God being put out to ‘pasture’ by society. But, He IS coming back, and I want to be found watching for His return!

    Barbara,

Your comments are so true regarding Christianity in today’s society. Christians are being harassed more and more and now is the time for us to stand up and hold fast to our Biblical principles that DO NOT change with the times. Society today is on a downward moral spiral and had better wake up before it is too late. The Bible is the authoritative Word of God and cannot be watered down by society, no matter how much people and the media try. People want to always feel good and don’t want to be convicted of their actions so they try to change the Bible to fit their own needs and desires or just completely ignore the Lord and His teachings.

I too look forward to the return of Christ and will never waver in my strong belief of Him no matter how bad it gets before He returns.

    Ahhh…
The sounds of true worshippers in the place always makes my mouth ring with praise.

Well, that and its just great to know that despite the freedoms that have been compormised/questioned/denied, that God will get His due upon His Return. Gotta love how the Word even says that the truth of God is revealed in all creation so that man has no excuse. Its one of those reasons why I celebrate independance day as a mark of independence in Christ, not just in America.
