One Wizard gone and the other is still here, oh no!

I should have just stopped looking around and thinking about the Wizard and kept right on using my Treo 650 happily day-by-day. But, posters to this blog and others got me thinking about the device again. I did send back the production i-mate K-JAM that David loaned me, actually I believe someone bought it from him. However, the company that sent me the pre-production QTEK 9100 is moving so they told me to hang on to it for a bit until they get an updated address, etc. So now I opened it back up and am going to give it a try again for a few days. It is very convenient having WiFi, Bluetooth voice dialing, and the other multitasking features of Windows Mobile in one device. I’ll let you all know how it continues to go 🙂

Palmsolo, By chance did you use your K Jam to dial using the on-screen keypad much? I’m still having a hard time myself choosing to stay with my 650 or move to the K Jam. I love my Treo but I really want WiFi without the eudora adapter.

Palmsolo, Thank you for your insight into the Qtek 9100/I mate K-jam. As a consumer with limited carriers in Alaska, I was seriously looking at the Treo 650 as an all in one product. However, not having wi-fi was deterring my purchasing of one.

Now that you have reviewed the Wizard (9100/K-Jam), I am leaning towards buying it. I am concerned that a model will come out next year with more ROM, which seems the case in almost every technical gadget.

I did have one question about the dialing on the Wizard, was it a major problem without BT when the keyboard was closed?

    Thanks for your help.

Dialing using the onscreen keypad in portrait mode is probably the Achilles heel of the device. However, I am hopeful that someone on xda-developers.com will figure out a way to get some utility working. There is the Smart Dialing app that helps, but the Favorites and last called operations on the Treo blow dialing away. Then again, I am really much more data centric so am still debating the Wizard.
