Nokia N70 and Google Earth/Local Mobile make a great combo

I headed up to Bellingham and Lynden today to visit with some family and then conduct a survey on an Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) vessel. As we passed through Bellingham I realized I did not have directions printed out to get to the hotel somewhere around Lynden. I then remembered that the night before I read an article on All About Symbian regarding Google Earth Mobile for Series 60 devices and loaded it up at that time. I have tried this out on a Windows Mobile Smartphone and was very pleased to see it expanded to the very popular Series 60 platform. I launched it on the N70 I am reviewing, typed in the hotel address, and quickly found directions to the hotel from I-5. Even though there is no GPS integration at this time, the application proved very valuable today and the satellite image view is incredible on a mobile device.

I also discovered I had no internet access at the hotel and had some important work to get done. I simply hooked up the USB cable to the Nokia N70 and connected to my T-Mobile data account. BTW, I get a full signal on the N70 with T-Mobile way up here in Lynden, WA.
