I have never traveled as much in my life as I have this year and was just reflecting on that a bit today as I planned a couple more trips for the remainder of 2006. I started off in January with trips to Alaska (multiple times) and DisneyWorld in Florida. I then went on to make trips to Alaska (Juneau, Ketchikan, and Seward), California (Monterey and San Diego), Virginia, Aruba, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, New York, Boston, Hawaii, and Oregon. I now have trips to D.C. and San Diego next week with a trip to London in December for a week that should close out the year. Next year I know for sure I’ll be going to Florida and Mexico and am sure many more trips will come around as I continue to manage numerous projects. We are extremely busy at work and I have actually worked something like 160 hours of OT this year, which isn’t that common for our company as we try to maximize time with our families outside of work.
I do like to travel for the most part, but do miss my wife and daughters on the road. We are quite busy with sports and activities too so it is tough for my wife while I am away too. Luckily, my mother-in-law is retired and always willing to help out with the girls and I thank the Lord for her.
